Our Fees for Immigration Services

We offer fixed fees and hourly rates. The nature and exact amount of our professional fees can vary depending on the evaluation of work and time involved for each client’s case, the complexity of a particular matter, and the resources required to achieve the best possible outcome for a client’s legal matter.

 

What services are included

The work we undertake on your behalf will depend on the nature and specific requirements of the matter; however, it usually involves:

  • taking initial instructions, discussing the case in detail and confirming what the options are and the most appropriate application to make;
  • providing advice about the requirements of the relevant rules and how you can meet the criteria;
  • providing details of the evidence required to support the application;
  • providing details of the application process;
  • considering the supporting evidence provided;
  • preparing the application for submission;
  • drafting a detailed letter of representation setting out how you meet the criteria;
  • providing you with advice in respect of submitting your application;
  • providing you with advice about the outcome of the application and complying with your immigration conditions;
  • taking instructions for appeals to the First Tier Tribunal (FTT) and the Upper Tribunal (UT);
  • preparing for and lodging bail applications;
  • preparing for and lodging appeals;
  • preparing for witness statements and bundles for the FTT and UT hearings;
  • preparing for briefs to counsel for representation at FTT and UT;
  • providing advice about the outcome of an appeal and application for permission to appeal.

 

Time Frame

The length of time that it will take to complete the work will depend on the circumstances of your case, such as:

  • number of supporting evidence and documents which we need to consider;
  • the complexity of the matter;
  • whether any supporting evidence or document is missing and how long it will take to obtain the missing documents;
  • number of applicants or appellants involved in a matter.
  • we will normally be able to submit applications within 2 to 4 weeks of you instructing us, however, we will let you know if it is likely to take longer than this. The time taken to prepare your application will depend on the complexity of your case and how quickly you send us the required supporting evidence.
  • we cannot give an exact time frame as to how long the Home Office will take to process your application. Please read the current processing times here:

The number of hours to complete the case depends on the circumstances, such as:

  • the amount of supporting evidence that we need to consider;
  • which language you speak;
  • whether you are applying with other dependants.

Our fees above do not include VAT or disbursements (see below).

 

What are disbursements

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as the Home Office fee or Court fee. We can handle the payment of disbursements on your behalf, provided we have funds on the account.

The Home Office fees vary depending on the kind of application and the biometric appointment costs will also vary depending on where and how the application will be submitted, and whether a priority service for expedited determination is being utilised.

It also includes biometric appointment costs, Immigration Health Surcharge costs and translation costs etc. Kindly note that below is not an exhaustive list of all possible disbursements involved in a matter, and they do not apply to every type of application:

Translation fee Translation fees is variable depending on the language and the number of words involved in the relevant document. We can obtain a quote from a third party if required.
Interpreters’ fees Interpreters’ fees are difficult to estimate; however, we can provide you with a quotation from a third-party interpreter, if required.
Independent expert reports These are not required in all cases: we will let you know as soon as possible if we consider an expert report is necessary and obtain a quote from a third party expert.

VAT

Kindly note that all our fees mentioned above are subject to value-added tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate where applicable and some disbursements may also attract VAT.

Charging VAT in immigration matters can be complex and may depend upon whether you are a UK resident and what immigration status you have. We will confirm whether VAT is applicable in your case when you instruct us. The current applicable rate is 20%.
